Lifetime New Reality Show “Atlanta Plastic” Premiers Friday, July 31st 10 p.m,
To Be Young, Black and Plastic…Surgeons that is….
Lifetime Television is gearing up to premier a new reality show featuring Atlanta’s hottest and sought after African American plastic surgeons. “Atlanta Plastic” follows the careers of three local plastic surgeons Dr. Wright Jones, Dr. Marcus Crawford and Dr. Aisha McKnight-Baron premiering Friday, July 31st, 10 p.m.
In some African American communities, if you mention black plastic surgeons in Atlanta your mind immediately goes to one part of the body “The Gluts”or the “Derrière” . In “Atlanta Plastic” you will meet three professional doctors whose focus is not just on the ” Derrière ” but other body parts as well. Their patients are from various cultures including ethnic backgrounds and not just African American.
Living in an age where a little nip and tuck has become the norm in some social circles and big business, many doctors do not look at the dollars signs when it comes to personal care. I asked “Atlanta Plastic’ Dr. Wright Jones based in Buckhead, if he has ever denied a patient a surgical procedure because he felt the patient did not need it? He says, “Yes” depending on the circumstances. It is not all about money it is about the well being of the patient”. Dr. Jones says he chose to go into plastic surgery after a cousin was burned in a fire and he saw how plastic surgery can change people’s lives.
The show also introduces Dr. Aisha McKnight-Baron a Spelman graduate who is one of the few women in plastic surgery. Although she was approached by other television shows like “Married to Medicine” which focuses on your personal life, she says “She choose to join the cast of “Atlanta Plastic” because the show focuses on their careers”. She is also joined on the show with her business partner Dr. Marcus Crawford both based in Marietta.
Dr. Marcus Crawford has seven years experience in the plastic surgery industry specializing in head-to-toe cosmetic and reconstructive procedures. When asked how will they prepare for the influx of new patients, Dr. Crawford say “They have infrastructures in place to help them with the increase of new patients. We still only work with one patient at a time”. In the first episode there will be patients seeking tummy tucks, breast lifts, liposuction, vaginal reconstruction and rhinoplasty. All the patients and those with spouses are satisfied with their results.
MEET THE DOCTORS
Dr. Jones has a special interest in breast reconstruction, rhinoplasty (nasal reshaping), and gluteal augmentation, and he operates under a central mission statement to “restore and reform in a manner that is safe and practical. I do not want to change who my patients are, but rather to help them become the best that they can be.”
Dr. Jones’ office is located in Buckhead, also known as the Beverly Hills of the South. He believes his God-given gift is plastic surgery and loves transforming the lives of his patients.
Doctors Crawford and Mcknight-Baron are co-partners in a practice based in Marietta, Georgia. As a new surgeon, Dr. McKnight-Baron has recently joined Dr. Crawford’s practice and is quickly becoming an integral part of the practice. Having two surgeons at the office means double the patients- double the procedures- and definitely double the demands.
Dr. McKnight-Baron is one of the very few black female plastic surgeons in the country. She specializes in the Mommy Makeover. A mother herself, Dr. McKnight-Baron is able to relate with many of her patients who want their pre-baby body back.

Dr. Crawford is a renowned plastic surgeon and has owned his practice for 7 years. Although he’s trained from head-to-toe cosmetic and reconstructive surgery- his particular specialty is breast augmentation. He’s an every day, down-to-earth guy who knows how to make his patients feel comfortable and understands how to give them exactly what they want.
